Assam is known for its National Parks and Sanctuaries. Assam is one of the best destinations where one can encounter a great variety of rare and endangered wildlife. Assam is the only state in India which has such a vast variety of wildlife. Twenty out of forty one listed endangered species of wildlife are found here. Some of rarest animal species are found here.  Among the rare animals found in Assam the one horned rhino is most famous. The one-horned   rhinoceros, which is found in large numbers at Kaziranga National park. There are five National Parks present in Assam.
